Sennen Cove lies one mile from Lands End in Cornwall. Sennen Cove Lifeboat Station has existed here since 1853. Sennen Cove has had an all weather lifeboat for many years and, since the station has a history of well over a century of lifesaving, it was decided that the waters around Sennen Cove demanded the addition of a rapid response inshore boat. A 'D' Class Inshore Lifeboat was therefore placed on station to complement the existing all weather lifeboat.
This DVD allows you to experience the conditions aboard this fast boat during rescues, exercises and training. Come aboard for the ride of a lifetime. Seeing the lifeboat helmsmen at work, it is hard to see how they remain in the boat in such often hostile conditions. It is certainly a case of white surf and white knuckles.
In addition to witnessing the lifeboat in action the DVD includes the official naming ceremony of the lifeboat and a guided tour by the crew.
For lifeboat enthusiasts there is the bonus of the first ever slipway launch of a Tyne class lifeboat from Sennen Cove, plus visits by the Wick lifeboat and Fowey lifeboat as well as the St Mary’s lifeboat from the Isles of Scilly.
This is an archive DVD that we continue to sell because of its popularity.
